LNM/XPlane 11.5 Flight Plan Issues

Featured Replies

Love LNM and all the free content. Being new to LNM I thought I would use this forum to try and get some help. It appears that when I export a flight plan into the XPlane FMS the waypoints seem correct but somehow appear to get out of sequence. This normally happens with the waypoints leading up to the IAF and FAF. They sometimes appear back to front if this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.

I regularly use X-Plane 11 patched to newest 11.51 and haven't noticed any problems (also under previous versions) with any route sequence derived from LNM.
What is generating under LNM is 1:1 seen under XP11, it concerns both - FMS and FMS3 formats 🙂

But I suppose you probably made the following things:
1) under LNM you added IAF and FAF as a normal route points to flight plan,
2) under FMC you chose approach procedure from the list what caused the FMC didn't  know what to do and inserted approach somewhere between points ...

Am I right maybe?

Remember - your LNM flight plan has to end at last point of route (according ICAO flight plan requirements -> see ICAO2012 flight plan format amendment) - which will be the first point start of the procedure(s).
If you plan to fly STAR let it be first point of STAR procedure - which you can choose from FMC list.
If you plan only fly approach procedure, let it be first point of approach (IAF).

You can choose STAR and approach procedures  and export them from LNM - only in case when you don't plan to use built-in FMC procedure features. But at such a case it's impossible to change STAR and/or approach procedure in a easy way under FMC (in general it's possible by manually deleting points in FMC and then choosing other procedure from the list).

If they are not the problems described above, please _exactly_explain your problem to easier find the solution as wrote Alex in previous post.

Regards,
Piotr

ps. FMS and FMS3 are ASCII (text) file formats so you can always check what you get from LNM before loading to simulator 😛

Thanks to Alex and Piotr for your input.

AS Piotr suggests I think the problem may be the last point of routing. Will investigate and advise
