No mission sound...

Featured Replies

Hi!I have tried to look up in the forums, with no success, a small problem I am having with FSX.I seem not to be able to hear mission voices. In each of the available missions I hear the aircraft sounds (engine, wind...) but not the chat you can find in the "limited options" mission for example. I have checked DXdiag and everything seems good. Fs9 is working without a hitch in the same system.ThanksAsus P5w Dh Deluxe, E6600, En8800 GTX, 2 gig OCZ RAM, 2 SATA RAID 0 320 Gig

Does your system have a different sound device defined in the control panel applet as the VOICE device? If so, your mission (and ATC) audio will come out through that device.

All options use the same device...strange enough a mission like the one with the jet race truck will play the audio of the guy talking on the airport to the crowd. You can even hear the jet truck but when it comes to voice as for example the chit chat in the limited options mission I dont get anything...The sound device shows as Realtek HD.

I have been loosing my senses with this problem...I decided to uninstall the sound device and of course reinstall. I am getting sound now....figure out why...:-) Thanks anyway.

Ya never know what's going to fix it. My daughter had a similar problem with the sound device in her laptop, nothing that required a high-resolution timer was working correctly (this comes from the sound subsystem generally), so I uninstalled the sound driver, let the OS rediscover it, and everything started to work correctly again - very odd and I'd never ran into that problem before, but if it works, it works :->
