February 1, 200719 yr Hey guys.I installed FSX on my new machine and didn't realize I hadn't activated it. However, it's only after a week that I get limited to 30min of play-how can this be? Shouldn't it have done this from the start? This leads me to believe that I did in fact activate. Anyway, I was looking at a way to activate it now, after I have installed and am running it. I much prefer this to the reinstall option for obvious reasons-mainly addons. Your help appreciated.
February 1, 200719 yr According to the ReadMe in the main FSX folder, the Activation Wizard will appear every time you start Flight Simulator X until you activate the product. Until you activate Flight Simulator X, you can only use the product for 30 minutes each session. If you don't see the activation wizard, you're activated. Hope this helps.Best regards,Jim
February 2, 200719 yr Thanks Firehawk. I did always think I was registered...It might be a bug, but it appeared suddenly after days of normal ops-that's the weird thing.I'm trying to see what else I can do besides reinstall. Repair installation won't work either. It finds a glitch at the last part of the process.
February 2, 200719 yr Surely we are not that far into Addon mania yet? There wouldn't be too many to reinstall? Certainly not like FS9.ps sorry for calling you Shirley. February 4, 200719 yr Hmm - your Software license store may have become corrupt. try resetting it by downloading the Software Licensing System Reset Tool from Microsoft - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928080. If this is indeed the problem, and the tool clears it up, you should then find that you get the activation UI when you start FSX, and can then re-activate FSX, either via the Internet (if connected) or by 'phone.Hope this helps - Happy (30min+) flying! :>)- Skydrift
