February 3, 200719 yr Was thinking about getting the latest all new $5000.00 Computer beast. Then sanity set in instead, I bought 2 new recliners a nice leather couch some new coffee tables and end tables with lamps. A nice 37 inch LCD for the bedroom plus new sealy bed set. Then I found a geforce 8800 on sale for $349.00. I got All this for under $5000.00.Then I loaded up FSX still without the new card and guess what my FPS have improved how do I know this because my wife told me so and I better believe her or else.:)

February 3, 200719 yr LOL - well oddly I've been having the same dillema this past few weeks. Do I build a brand new machine to hopefully reap some better FSX performance or not - I've toyed with many configurations, and have the cash available, but alas so far the result is...Two big new desks, new and bigger flat panel monitor (old one now has become the secondary one) plus new speakers for my main machine (which is my primary software development box, but also my FSX one currently - be nice to get those seperated) and two very nice comfy leather chairs for the desks!FSX still might not run any faster, but the chairs more than make up for it, bet it's not this comfortable in a real 737-800 cockpit!, and the desks are sturdy enough to cope even when my FFB2 joystick is attempting to dislocate my wrist or jump off the desk on bumpy runways! :(
