July 26, 20214 yr Hi Guys hope you are well. Having some spare time at the moment and decided to fire up P3D V4.5, now i have not really used the sim since purchasing as still using FSX as my main flight sim (yep there are still some of us left and not ready to join the MSFS bandwagon just yet). I am looking for a good baseline for a graphics set up. My system comprises of an I5 9600K overclocked to 4.8Ghz with a GTX2080 and i am running a single 60hz 1080p display. I seem to remember AA not being as good as FSX back in the day so ideally I would like a jaggy free experience with clear cockpit guages and smooth framerates. Any tips would be greatfully received. Many thanks Daz My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
July 26, 20214 yr To be honest, I think the simplest answer is push all the sliders right, tick all the boxes, and see how far away that is from what you would want, then drop the settings one by one until you get to where you're happy. In my experience, the single biggest FPS hits in 4.x are scenery complexity, autogen and draw distance, reflections, shadows and dynamic reflections. Then it's all about the aircraft you're flying and the scenery you're flying them in. Others' experience may vary, of course. For jaggies, with your GPU you should be able to turn those settings up to 11, except maybe SSAA (try 8xSSAA and see how it goes; 2xSSAA even is better than 8xMSAA IMHO).
