shorelines straight in FSX (used to be fine)

Featured Replies

Greetings,My shorelines in FSX are now straight. I do not recall messing with anything and suddenly the look awful. I checked in FS9 as well and the shorelines seem to be fine, I think. Although, I could not tell.I did update the terrain.cfg by using terrain fix file found here at avsim and it helped to a point. I searched the forums but I could not find any answers/questions on this issue. Here are some pics: These are all taken near Anchorage, Alaska.http://home.comcast.net/~naresh.k.gurung/shoreline01.jpghttp://home.comcast.net/~naresh.k.gurung/shoreline02.jpgThis is FS9:http://home.comcast.net/~naresh.k.gurung/shoreline03.jpgIf anybody has any idea, your help is very much appreciated.Thank you very much.Best regards,Danzian

Hello Danzian,Have you looked at both versions from the same angle? For example, check the FS X version in top-down view as well and you will see that it is pretty much the same. Perhaps the corners are slightly more angular, but otherwise there does not seem much difference in that particular location. In general, though, FS X uses a different data set for terrain and so may look very different.Best regards.Luis

Thanks Luis for your reply.I asked a friend of mine to fly around that very area, and turns out he also has the same straight shorelines. Huh, I thought my video card had issues. All those hours of searching for answers!!! :DHave a great day.Danzian
