AI Traffic tools - getting a bit confused here

Featured Replies

Trying to get my head around all this. Seems like a whole bunch of options, so just want to check if I'm thinking along the right lines. So far, it seems like there are three main choices?

1) Simple Traffic (Aerosoft)

2) the "Easy airlines matching" package on Flightsim.to ( https://flightsim.to/file/18285/easy-airlines-aircraft-matching-with-default-live-traffic ) which uses IVAO Altitude

3) the AIG AI Manager, which is self contained?

But then I've just been looking at this -

and I assume this is just a way of swishing up the option 3 - AIG?

So I have both 1 & 2 set up so far, and am working on 3. I guess what I'd like to achieve ideally is the use of accurate models and liveries, and plenty of activity at the major airports and in the skies in general. I am not a serious tube pilot, in that I mostly just scoot around in things like the Grravel or a 'copter, and I'm mostly interested in the scenery and the view. I rarely actually fly airliners but I like to visit airports and their surroundings. I don't necessarily care about real-time accuracy with the AI (having the actaul real live flights mirrored perfectly), I'd just like the best looking representation I can get without crippling the sim.

I've got the sim running right now with just the Easyjet stuff installed in AIG at Gatwick, as per the setup video, and it looks pretty good. Simple Traffic was of course a doddle to set up and looks acceptable, but the other two options do seem better to look at - and I'm shallow like that!

So, just wondering if I've missed anything here, and am open to suggestions. It'd be nice to see other aircraft than just tubes as well, but does AIG do that?

One of the things I really liked in XP was Traffic Global, that seemed fairly comprehensive yet easy to set up. Not something I'd accuse either options 2 or 3 of. Neither of them require use of a slide rule, granted, but still a bit of faffing around.

Anyway, for now I shall head off and load up a few more airlines into AIG, and then maybe think about PSXT.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
