April 14, 200719 yr What is the recommended way to install FSX SP when it goes public? Do we keep the various tweaks (trees/autogen etc) and install over or do we uninstall FSX and reinstall w/SP?I believe there's been some speculation that a fresh install is the way to go (usually is)--how many installs of FSX are allowed before reactivation?THanks!KemoF15
April 14, 200719 yr Discussed many times. SP1 will need a clean RTM. The only changes that you can keep are config tweaks. Any changed content files will break the SP1 installer. This does not include 3rd party files, well-behaved add-ons should be fine. However, to be safe you should back up your installation with a restore point and be ready to completely revert to a clean RTM if you have problems. ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.
