Loading Approach removes last waypoint ?

Featured Replies

Its been a while since using a GPS for my flights and I am just starting again with the GTN750 mod. Sometimes it seems that loading an approach removes the last waypoint in the plan and redirects the plane. Is that the way its supposed to happen. I thought the approach would start then from the last waypoint.

Please forgive my ignorance on this.

Thanks

In the real GTN, loading the approach should drop it at the end of your flight plan and wait for you to activate it. If you select activate or load and activate, it will take you from present position to the IAF or create a inbound course on final.

TY. I guess its another bug them that MSFS needs to iron out. Simply solved by not loading the approach until the last waypoint is reached.;

The GTN750 Mod is set up to get rid of the MS/Asobo "U-Turn" bug by deleting all previous waypoints when the approach is activated - this keeps the aircraft from returning to the previous waypoint (running a u-turn).

We are hopeful that once the WT work on the NXi becomes part of the standard code in FS2020 that the work-around will no longer be necessary.
