Why does Chicago look like the Pacific northwest in my SIM

Featured Replies

I have never seen so many pine trees in the Chicago area (yes, we have some). The rendering seems to be auto gen of some kind. My house might as well be hidden in a canopy, this seems like the old Flight Sim. Like others, I have turned Bing Data Word Graphics on and messed around with Photogrammetry (on or off), deleted cache. My current Data consumption is sitting at 5.46MIB (I think the Data tracking reset day setting of 1 changes it every day so I don't have to think about it), no data limitation (it's set to off). My internet up/down is more than sufficient. Thoughts?

Because there's a limited number of tree models in this sim, and they're placed somewhat indiscriminately.

There's a mod called Bijan's Seasons + Trees that fixes this; it adds many types of trees, and places them correctly in the sim world.  It's actually surprising, the difference this makes... flying low over the midwest looks much more real.  (The PNW looks better too, with proper fir and cedar instead of the generic rounded pine tree.)

Bijan's mod is well worth its price; the season effects are great too.
