Yesterday, when I try to start Active Sky Environment, I get the following error message:

"ASE has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

1. Tried restarting the computer

2. Disabled antivirus and firewall

3. Tried the repair function for ASE.

4. Removed ASE and deleted the folder with all files

5. Reinstalled ASE

Still get the same results.

Notes: I am still running Windows 7. I have disabled all automatic updates to Win7 months ago. ASE worked fine until now. For good measure I saw that I still had  Active Sky Advanced on my computer, so activated it and it works fine. I thought of going ahead and purchasing/installing the latest and greatest version of active sky, but am apprehensive that I might have the same problem with it.

Anybody been down this road and know a solution.

Thanks:

In my search, I see the following on the HIFI site.

"A FREE fully-functional 7 day trial of AS16 is available to all users. Try it Now! An upgrade discount for AS16 is also available to licensed users of ASE, AS2012 or ASN." I am assuming from what I read that this is the latest and greatest AS for FSX.

I downloaded AS16 with no problem to be sure it would work without the problems I am having with ASEnvironment. When I try to crank up AS16, a window opens for the entry of my purchase key. There is also an option to request a trial key. When I click on the trial option, the reply is, "OOPS! That page can't be found."

Is the 7 day trial offer no longer available?

I did check my email in the event that it would be sent automatically, although I don't know how HIFI would know my email address simply by downloading AS16.

Respectfully:

RTH
