May 18, 200719 yr I have a put on SP1 and I am constantly getting 30fps but it is jittery/stuttery. I have read some threads about this but it seems people have a lot of different opinions. If someone could post a solution to stop the stuttering I would much appreciate it, at 30fps you would expect the graphics to be smooth.E6600, 7600gt nvidia, 2gb ram, vista 64bit.
May 18, 200719 yr Make sure antialiasing is checked especially if in full screen mode, experiment with the texturebandwidth, texture radius, global textures etc.... Also try flying in a rural or outback area and see if it still stutters, if not then you can narrow down the culprit, could be autogen in that case, drop that setting.I noticed slight stutters when I loaded up 50 miles outside philly, could have been the AI, the autogen etc.... but it did go away eventually I guess as everything loaded. The northeast is a killer and easily overloads the system sometimes.Ian.
May 18, 200719 yr >The northeast is a killer and easily overloads the system>sometimes.>>>Ian.I think you are right about that. In my case I get the stutters with a heavy "varity" of autogen. I can have a ton of trees only and its not an issue. Lots of houses, not too bad. But combine, like in the northeast, ouch.
May 18, 200719 yr Just to show you how every case is different.I was flying helis and noticed that everything was micro pausing when in a hover and moving up or down. Same if I turned really fast. Not really a stutter that stopped but you could see the fps moving from 50-60 back down to 10-20 ect.First off I killed off all the autogen/buildings/trees/ai/cars ect.Still did it even though it looked as barren as the moon.So I locked it and, knock on wood, seems to have solved it.That is NOW. In 5 minutes it could be back. Also in my case with a Nvidia 7900gtx, I need to turn off the games aa and let the card do everything.PS- I think the red cars are causing alot of the problems. That and those pesky birds...
