May 18, 200719 yr Just flew above Norway and saw it's still covered with sand... Very weird sight, I can tell you, to see empty mountains covered in sand all towards the rivers and lakes... Anyway, since SP1 clearly didn't do anything about this I'm ready to get an addon that makes everything look more like it is in real life. And I don't mean photorealistic scenery, but one off those addons that takes care of better general textures all over the place.Which is the best one available right now (for not too much money of course ;) )?

May 19, 200719 yr Anyone knows if FScene might cure this? It gives you all new textures, if I'm not mistaken. Or will it just make the sand on Norway look different...? ;)
May 19, 200719 yr The 8 part textures above didnt do anything for my sand textures in Norway. See screenshot in other thread.
May 19, 200719 yr When I was a kid I wanted a giant sand pit. Now we have one, it's not that good actually.... Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU

Below is two pictures from Europe that show the differences between default and FScene textures.FSX with default textures (no add on landclass activated):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172238.jpgFScene textures (with patch 1 and 2 installed):http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172239.jpgIMHO the FScene Europe textures isn't worth the money, even if they doesn't cost you more than 10 Euro for all seasons. I'm waiting for Peter Wilding's GE and Lennart Arvidssons Scantex (Scandinavian freeware textures that will be designed to fit in with GE).Ulf B :-)
May 23, 200719 yr Wow, what a difference! Now I know why it's sold for only 10 euro. ;) I'll pass. Ths a LOT for the good pics!BTW In the meantime I downloaded and installed Norway Scenic X ( http://www.flightsim.no/file/FSX/Scenery/Europa/Norge/ ) and now finally Norway looks like Norway! I'm downloading the mesh right now too (from the FS9 part of the site, but it seems to work with FS X too). (Read Holger's posts in this topic: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=399581&page=3 )I also already heard of Scantex ( http://www.flightsim.no/home/textureart/ ): looks interesting too!
May 23, 200719 yr Thanks for the url to Holgers posts on Norway Scenic. I have Norway Scenic X installed. Very nice, but I discovered that I had some issue with the Swedish coast, south of Norway. Looked like an exclusion that removed part of the coast. So I disabled it until I get some time to look more into the cause. But I guess it's perfectly OK that a big part of Sweden dissapears into the ocean, out of a Norwegian perspective ;-) Ulf B, ESML
