May 21, 200719 yr Hi all (and ACES team),Can anybody please provide more detail on the SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT parameter and exactly what it does, how to adjust it to avoid blurries and so forth.I know Phil has posted about this on his blog however the information provided doesn't really give us a full understanding of exactly what this parameter does and how to adjust it.Rgds,JCMK
May 21, 200719 yr From what I can gather from his blog (I may be wrong, it's not very clearly written), the setting doesn't help with the blurries. He writes: "There is additional code to reduce blurries." and "In some cases, the textures generated from this code can get throttled and will be timed out."The tweak simply adjusts this timeout value, and might help if textures get timed out and are displayed in a solid colour (this can happen with airport textures, for example). For blurries, you'd be better off tweaking the fiber framerate options and lock your FPS to something lower. -

I played with it and found I could reduce it to 1 and not see any discernable change in FPS or quality. I assume some/many would have blank tiles with that setting? But I definetly noticed stutters if I significantly increased the setting. (though no corresponding reduction in blurries that I could notice)In the end, I just returned it to 30...
