Problem Installing AVSIM Airoplane Flyniki and Airberli...

Featured Replies

Hi allBeeing pretty new to FSX and very new to this Forum I hope I post correctly.Beeing an Austrian and liking Niki Lauda (he was my Captain on several "real" flights) I was glad to find his planes aon Your Page.I downloaded the world-of-ai.com/installer and the Files (woanlyv1.zip), and so far all went fine.I started the Installer, told him I'm on FSX , and off the instalation went. Then I started FSX (german Version with german SP1 installed), went to free flight - select aircraft and didn't find any FlyNiki or AirBerlin planes (which I also downloaded and installed).Looked into the SimObjects/Airplains subdirectory, and found several new directories which obviously contained the files.Help please what did I do wrong?

You may not have done anything wrong. I am not intimtely familiar with this particular package but have worked on & with other AI packages and this is a common question. The "AI" (Artifical Intelligence") is simply additional air traffic that gets scheduled into the sim. This means that it will only show up at certain times and places. There should be a README or other infomration in the package that will indicate the aircraft and schedules. OR, you can continue flying and let yourself be pleasantly surprised when you finally do see one (of course you'd want to verify it's working so you should try to look into the docs for a schedule and locate at least one). Logcal place to start would be the home base of the real plane or aircrew or whatever and try different days and times, and look around the ramp thoroughly.

As stoopy said this is an AI aircraft not a user aircraft and will not be selectable in the aircraft selection menu.Ian.

>As stoopy said this is an AI aircraft not a user aircraft and>will not be selectable in the aircraft selection menu.>>Ian.Ooops seems I understood that package totally wrong.Thank's for the tip, I'll bee looking out between Vienna and Mallorca, where he flies several times a day.

Hi and good morning!Yes, I taxied around Vienna (Schwechat) airport last evening, and several FlyNiki and AirBerlin Jets were standing and driving around. It's fun!So thank's again!
