Windows XP X64 and FSX not starting!

Hi I have Windows XP X64 and FSX wont start.It gives me the direct x is not current error even though dxdiag shows me 9.0c.Whats up with that?what am I doing wrong?thanks.

I'll take a guess here... It may be possible that FSX is looking for DX10 since you have the 64 bit OS running. I run Vista 64 w/ DX10 and have no issues.

Just remember that you can only get DX10 with Vista 32 or 64. I don't believe that you will ever be able to get it without making the Vista plunge. Im running a an NVidia 8800 GTS.New Ro - woot!

so am I screwed with XPpro64?do you have vista64bit?my main question was for getting it running on windows64.by the way, I thankyou for your help!I always thank my helpers;)

yes I have Vista 64 (read my original post) which is bundled with DX10.
