vPilot switching frequencies when flying MSFS

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've been searching about this for some time, I saw a few posts but nothing that would address the issue:

Every time I am flying on VATSIM network with MSFS2020, at various phases of the flight, from preparation to push/start to taxiing to takeoff etc, the active frequency on vPilot will change a few times to something else. What I usually do is set the appropriate frequency, i.e. 122.800 if no ATC available or the ATC frequency, then prepare my flight, then it will change without me knowing so and I find myself in some very embarrassing situations where the active ATC is pinging me to connect again because I do not respond while taxiing for example...

I've been searching MSFS inside-out, all buttons from my controllers, all keyboard assignments, there's nothing tied to the radios. I also checked and verified that the assistance options are definitely OFF with regards to first officer managing the radios etc. Also, there's no MSFS ATC active at all. I tried with various PTT keys for vPilot, the same happens all the time, with all aircraft I fly, that is mainly Airbus A320, both FlyByWire and Fenix lately.

What drives me nuts is that there is no apparent reason for this, it just happens randomly, or at least I've not spotted any pattern yet. And it will definitely happen every single freakin' time, maybe 2 or 3 times when I am departing -while taxiing or pushing back- and sometimes en route.

EDIT -- this happens only with MSFS, I also have P3D on the very same PC, using the very same peripherals and the very same vPilot, and there are no frequency changes at all.

Anyone knows which is the invisible hand that is changing my frequencies? All input is very much appreciated, thanks in advance!

You have to delete the ATC assigned functions in the keyboard settings, they are numbered 0-9, delete the keyboard settings for each.
