I've installed and uninstalled FSX before without too many problems but now I'm stuck. After a problem with the external hard disk I removed FSX. Now every time I try to re-install all I get is the following message:Error 1324. The path Microsoft Games contains an invalid character.I had FSX installed on our external hard drive K:When I switched the computer on a couple of days ago the external hard drive was now L:FSX wouldn't uninstall from the CD, so I manually deleted everything including registry entries, entries in documents, settings and User folders, etc.I've also error checked and defragged both hard drives several times. When I go to add or remove programs, FSX is still there (as well as SDK) and it won't allow me to uninstall (obviously since it doesn't really exist) when I try to uninstall it also comes up with Error 1324. The path Microsoft Games contains an invalid character.Don't know if it makes a difference but I am using Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition.Any ideas on what can I do?

I would run a registry cleaner (Vista compatible). If FSX is still shown in the add/remove programs section, then registry items are still there. Do a registry search for "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" or simply "simulator" and you should come up with all the applicable registry items.Jim

I've run Registry Mechanic and AShampoo Registy Cleaner both of which cleaned stuff out of the registry. But FSX still shows up in the list of programs to uninstall.

I had a similar problem with Vista 32 business. I couln't uninstall FSX at all - the uninstaller said it had gone but all the files were present and the program still showed as installed. I decided to use the 'bull in a china shop' approach - deleted all the files from the drive and ran the repair option - seeing as how it wouldn't allow me to install. The installer put EVERYTHING back and FSX runs OK now. Strange behaviour to say the least.

All the files have been deleted but the program still shows up in the list of programs to uninstall/change.This is driving me crazy!
