I am in the process of shopping for a new monitor, and any input would be appreciated.

I currently have an RTX2060, will run about 45fps at 2560x1440 at high settings.

I plan on a new monitor now and a new card maybe in a year.  I don't know if I should go with gsync or freesync.  I think I have narrowed down to either the LG 34GP950G-B or the LG 34GP83A-B.  So is gync worth the extra $$ over freesync?  Since I plan on getting a new card anyway are they comparable?  and is gsync compatible as good as gsync?  I don't want to buy another monitor for 5 years, and all these choices are overwhelming.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thank you

I have been in the same boat and just compared 3 monitors (well 2 actually, the next one arrives tomorrow).

There are different opinions on how much better G-Synch is over FreeSynch if you own an Nvidia, my opinon, get the FreeSynch monitor and spend the extra money somewhere else.

Most Freesynch implementations are known to be compatible with Gsynch (except a few oddball monitors), and both should look about the same. Check reviews of the specific model before you buy, they often test NVIDIA cards on the FreeSynch and comment on it.

Samsung and Dell and LG are all good options in the monitor space right now. Gigabyte and AOC are bang for buck, and Gigabytes are ok but their cheaper monitors often seems a little less sharp and sometimes come with crazy color issues that are hard to calibrate. LG is usually good, but they are often a bit pricey for the feature set. The cheap Sceptres sometimes also have sharpness issues (so I hear).

I tried a Gigabyte and it has some VERY VERY slight chromatic abberation (rainbow border) on text on the Gigabyte GIGABYTE G32QC A, and I also have seen this CA issue on some Benqs before (only older ones). I spent like 6 hours calibrating the Gigabyte G32QC-A monitor with a C6 colorimeter, when it should have taken 1 hour. The monitor has gamma issues and is a massive pain to calibrate.

For myself, I think I have settled on the Dell S3221QS, we shall see when it gets here.
The Dell uses an 1800R curve instead of the more common 1500R or 1000R curves which are a bit more extreme.

I thought the 1500R on the Gigabyte was a bit too curved considering I also use this PC for work sometimes.
