I am trying to create a chrome look to the white spinner on my RV 7 repaint using GIMP. The common folder has a file named btsspinnerchrome.dds with the alpha channel. I understand that to get the chrome look I need to retexture to dark grey.
 

What are the correct steps after loading the file into DXTbmp, sending to GIMP and retexturing to the dark grey? 
 

 

After retexturing, you import your new alpha textures back into dxtbmp (button at the bottom of the alpha screen in dxtbmp), save the file in dxtbmp in its original format, restart your sim and enjoy the result
