September 4, 20223 yr Pakistan Part 1 - Karakorum Starting from Thoise Airbase (VITE) in Ladakh the flight plan will visit the giant peaks of the K2 region of the Karakorum. We then proceed on to Skardu (OPSD), then Gilgit (OPGT), backtrack to circumnavigate Nanga Parbat, then land at Chilas (OPCL). Following Indus river valley for most of the leg we next land at Swat (OPSS). The final leg will take us to our destination for this flight – Chitral (OPCH). The route is 531nm and features very high mountain peaks and ridges and deep valleys. This will require an aircraft capable of performing in this demanding environment. I plan to fly the King Air (Eastern Airways Livery), but the TBM 930 or Citation CJ4 would also be good choices. Flight Plan & Pilots Guide HERE Freeware Addons: Skardu International Airport OPSD Gilgit Airport (OPGT) Live weather seems to produce a heavy snow cover which obscures mountain detail. I recommend flying clear skies to better appreciate the impressive mountainous terrain. Set departure time to 3pm which should provide good visibility combined with afternoon shadows Particulars: Date and time: Wednesday September 7, 18:00 UTC Where: AVSIM RTWR Teamspeak - Casual Flights Channel Teamspeak Server Address: ts.teamavsim.com MFS Multiplayer: US Eastcoast Server If you want to help others enjoy the multiplayer experience, don't forget to enter your aircraft details on the multiplayer spreadsheet (linked here). September 6, 20223 yr Spectacular route. And terrific videos in the Pilot's Guide. Thanks. -------------------Additional note from Captain Obvious: Today would be a good day for those who own the Orbx Himalaya Mesh to activate it. --Mike MacKuen
