Hey guys,

since 2 days, I'm now the owner of MSFS. Since then, I'm also struggeling to download this game. The first 90 GB were no problem, I downloaded them while I was not home. I got launched in the game and set up my graphics settings. Then, I restarted the sim to make sure these are applied. When I was at the point of "Checking updates",the installation manager told me I had to download antoher 50GB. That was very annoying, but I tried to let him download it in the night. I woke up and yeah, the game launched once again. Since I wanted to test it, I quit the sim again and tried launching it - again, 50GB to download. It is downloading the fs-base-cgl files, I guess. But another weird fact is, that the downloaded file size doesn't "update" regulary. I see that it does download with quite some speed, but the % and the counter how much I downloaded stays at 0, it updates only every 500MB I think. This is very frustrating, why can't it just download everything at once? And why should I even download these "mandatory" files when the game works without them too? I hope you can help. Thanks.

there was a big update released this morning so it's most likely some issues related to that, like you got the version yesterday and then now have the new version to grab. i can't really offer any specific advice though, all the updates and installs have worked as expected for me. might want to ask around on the msfs forum also

So, even tho I'm pretty late now, it finally worked after even more time. All in all it took like 6 days with several reinstalls, but the game is now playable. Thanks for your help. 😃
