October 4, 20223 yr Hi all, about to do a fresh Windows install on a new drive in my PC. Currently using the Steam version of MSFS and it's installed on a secondary drive. The new Windows drive is a large gen 4 NVME that will have room for MSFS as well so I'm planning to have Steam install it there (not sure if I'll put the main Steam library there as well or create a second one). I have backed up all the controller profiles I found in the Steam Userdata folder for MSFS, but I'm not sure about a few things. Such as does backing those up even work or does MSFS actually store them itself on the Xbox servers? Also on the subject of controllers can I assume that if the controller profiles are stored on either Xbox or Steam and are restorable that the sim will still be able to use them? Or are the device ID's going to change on the new install of Windows and I'm going to have to re-create them all anyway? Would not be looking forward to that since I've got a Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, Logitech pedals, VKB gladiator stick, and an xbox controller (for drone use) and the alpha/bravo both have like a dozen profiles between them alone.
