Control Assignment integration with LINDA questions

I researched Chaseplane before purchasing, and saw that camera controls could be assigned to keys, buttons, and Axis. Since LINDA has the ability to assign keystrokes to just about any input from a controller (for instance, a hat switch can be assigned a keystroke or keystrokes) I had planned on integrating Chaseplane with LINDA. For instance, setting the Key value for Pan Left in Chaseplane to A and then programming LINDA to output A when using the hat switch. 

However, that does not work. LINDA will output that keystroke but Chaseplane does not respond to that, although it does if I use the keyboard to input the value. Is there a way of getting LINDA and Chaseplane to play well with each other?
