Google maps vanished when upgrading from 2.87 to 2.88

I am running win64. The google maps work in 2.87, and the dependent folders remain in ...AppData\Local\.marble\data\maps\earth. They still work in 2.87, but when I run in 2.88 they don't appear among the map options. I've tried deleting and replacing the google map files in the same directory. I appreciate any suggestions.

You simply have to redo the installation in the new LNM installation folder. "AppData\Local\.marble\data\maps\earth" is the cache folder. Do no install the maps there.
The maps have to go to "LittleNavmap-win64-2.8.8/data/maps/earth" so that folders like "google-maps-ter" are stored besides stock maps like "opentopomap".
