I get the box 'Search for app in the store' as i open icon

Recommended Posts

I have just installed the littlenavmap as in the instructions onto my windows 11 desktop.  When i locate the startup icon and click it, I get a box pop up saying 'Search for app in the store'.  If I click yes nothing is found.  If no it just goes back and will not open.

I am not that clued up on Pc's but have a very basic knowledge of folders etc. I think I have done everything correctly.  I am installing with a pc with i9 processor and 4090 graphics card with windows 11.

Any help would be appreciated to get it up and running!

Many thanks,

Ged

Hi Ged,

first make sure you really downloaded the right LNM and not another OS or the sources. Here is the download link for the 64-bit version which is good for MSFS and X-Plane: https://github.com/albar965/littlenavmap/releases/download/v2.8.8/LittleNavmap-win64-2.8.8.zip

Maybe you have to unblock the application due to some MS pseudo-security circus:

Depending on system and anti-virus settings it might be needed to unblock the executable files. This applies to Little Navmap (littlenavmap.exe), Little Navconnect (littleconnect.exe) and the Little Xpconnect plugin (win.xpl).

You can do this in the Windows explorer by selecting properties and checking Unblock file. Detailed instruction can be found here, for example: How to Unblock a File in Windows 10.

Not sure how to do this in Windows 11.
