FS202, OzRunways and Xmapsy Problem

Featured Replies

Hello, I don't know if I'm in the right forum or not, but anyway, I've just recently purchased Xmapsy Essential after first attempting to use Flight Events Client unsuccessfully to work in conjunction with OzRunways and FS2020.

Xmapsy was recommended from Ozrunways' site to be able to us with FS2020. It appeared to be a much easier process of setting up than Flight Events Client, or at least I thought

Tuns out that I must be the only one anywhere who can't get Xmapsy to work with Ozrunways, although there's very little info anywhere about Xmapsy, even from the developer themselves.

I'm sunning FS2020 on a PC and Ozrunways on an Android tablet, both on the same LAN Subnet. The PC is connected via LAN cable and the tablet via WiFi.

Xmapsy connects successfully to FS2020, but does not dispaly on the tablet. The problem seems clear enough, the option "Send data to specific IP address - The IP address of your tablet with the EFB app" on Xmapsy is greyed out. It is displaying a completeyl wrong IP address for my network and the option being greyed out means I can't change anything.

Another consideration is also that the info on the support page merely states, "UDP-ports 49002* and 4000 must be open". OK, so which ports? Inbound or Outbound or both?

I use Avast Free anti-virus and firewall and there is nowhere to configure any port forwarding. So I have even tried disabling that to fall back on the Windows Defender firewall, for which I can configure the ports, but that makes no difference either. There's still no joy.

Has anyone had experience with this and if so, can you explain how I can get this app to work?

Any help is most appreciated, thank you.

Regards,
Alan

I can confirm this is working for me, my process below

run MSFS 2020

once in start xmapsy

Check IP address of android device that has Ozrunway which in my case is an oppo phone and make sure its correct in xmapsy

start up Oz runway and wait for the location to be sent from MSFS, it does say its getting xplane coordinates but thats normal

The message format i use in Xmapsy is use xplane simulator format as cant get it working with GL 90

also on the xmapsy setup screen i connect via FSUIPC not auto

when i go to external devices in Ozrunway i used to see the connected device and the data connection but on this new version i do not but still working

re the greyed out setting in Xmapsy have you unticked broadcast to all devices in current subnet

i can send you my Xmapsy settings and Ozrunway settings if you cant get it working not sure how to insert them here but i can send to your email
