Unable to load MSFS 2020 Scenery

Featured Replies

I am unable to load MSFS 2020 Scenery in LNM v2.8.9.  After selecting load on the dialog box I get the following:

Found 10 notes in 10 scenery entries when loading the scenery database

Some files or scenery directories could not be read properly due to encrypted airport data.

Scenery Title: OneStore
Encrypted add-on "asobo-airport-eddf-frankfurt" found. Add-on might not show up correctly.

After pressing Ok I get the completion screen with

Done! And all counts are zero and the green bar is at 100%

Any help is appreciated.

There is nothing wrong on your side and I cannot do anything to fix this. The message is just there to let you know.

This message appears after loading the MSFS scenery library. Numbers will differ.

Futhermore there are one or more messages like the one below:

Scenery Title: OneStore
Encrypted add-on "asobo-airport-eddf-frankfurt" found. Add-on might not show up correctly.

This is not an error message but merely a reminder that the layout of encrypted payware aiports in Little Navmap might not match what you see in the simulator. You can still use the airport for flight planning but taxiways, parking spots and aprons might probably differ.

A MSFS add-on does not show up after reloading the scenery library in Little Navmap

Encrypted add-on airports in MSFS cannot be read by Little Navmap.

The add-on is locked down with a DRM (Digital Restriction Management) scheme if you find a file BGL.fsarchive in the add-on folders. Little Navmap will not show a new airport or only the stock airport if an add-on replaces a stock one.

You can still use the stock airport shown in Little Navmap for flight planning but keep in mind that parking, taxiways or aprons might probably look different in the simulator.

Buy add-ons directly from developers instead of the Microsoft market which enforces encryption. Alternatively you can also use and support freeware scenery.

Thanks for responding Alex.  I read the FAQ before posting this and was aware of the warning for those airports that are DRM protected, however I was expecting the rest of the scenery to load and that does not happen.  After the process completes, I get no airports or any other scenery elements in LNM.  My only option is to select the "Use Navigraph for all features" option.

Here is a link to dialog box that I get at the end of the process.  Hope it is accessible.

Ok. I should better read posts more thoroughly. 🙃 Eyes are moving faster than the brain sometimes.

The screenshot is accessible. Thanks.

Now I'm a bit confused. LNM should load something if this hint shows up. Very strange.

Try "Reset Paths" in the load scenery library dialog and reload. This null-loading can happen if the simulator was moved or reinstalled into another place. Also check if there are remains of an older MSFS installation. I explained all the paths and how LNM detects the simulator here: https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap-faq.html#msfs-scenery-library

If all else fails try a loading attempt and send me the log-file:https://albar965.github.io/contact.html

Thanks again for the help.  I did Reset Paths and same issue.

However, what worked was deleting the APPDATA/Roaming/ABarthel folder and restarting LNM and now scenery did load as expected.

Problem seems fixed, just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for getting back about this. Normally resetting paths should help. There is probably still some critter in the code.🕷️
