May 2, 20233 yr Hi I currently have the RTX 2060 and are running P3D v5.3 as my sim. I bought the 2060 for about 2 years ago, just to have an gpu to use during the gpu shortage. I've been using it with a 1080p monitor with 1080 settings in P3D, running fine at medium-high graphics with just a few CTDs. Now I have recently bought a new 144hz 1440p monitor, and I see that P3D is having difficulties running 2060 at 1440p, which I prefer running on. Therefore, I am planning to upgrade my GPU, and I have been looking at both 3060 12 GB and 3060 TI with 8 GB VRAM to be able to run fine at 1440p. I am unsure about which GPU to choose from. I understand that VRAM is an important thing to think about when it comes to P3D, but is the 3060 TI enough with its 8 GB of Vram and better performance than the default 3060 with 12 GB of VRAM? Im asking this because the 3060 has 4 GB more VRAM than the 3060 TI, and cheaper. So which is better; a GPU with extra VRAM and cheaper, or a GPU a little bit more expensive with less VRAM, but performs better and is quicker than the other one?
May 2, 20233 yr I've been using the 3060Ti at 1440 res, and I am happy with it. Initially, I was worried about the 8 g ram, but so far I've had no issues with it. The fps run a steady 30-40 fps, showing that it has the power to sustain high to ultra settings for most features, but not all. My cpu is a Intel10600 and am still happy with it. I would not recommend a 3060 just for the higher ram. The benchmarks do not favor it. If you need more ram and comparable power to the 3060Ti, I suggest you consider an AMD card. I have no experience with it, so I cannot provide any advice.
