Out of the loop

well I stashed my fs9 away and am giving a full blown effort at FSX. I've been gone awhile and need to know what the latest tweaks are at or the order of install or what the "standard" is for installing and tweaking. Is there a new website? right now I installed FSX and then the update and UTX and thats it. Let me know any help much appreciated.

I'd recommend that you start by catching up on Phil's blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/default.aspx. Lot's of very useful information to get you on the right track- regards, jed

But, given your rig, excluding some of the possible FSX.cfg settings described in Phil's blog, pretty much just a straight up install plus reasonable settings should be just fine. You may want to consider overclocking your CPU. I overclocked my E6600 to 3.34 GHz and it runs great with sliders moved mostly to the right and shadows off and bloom off on XP. I haven't really tested the effect of shadows. I've been doing this out of habit from FS9.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
