November 22, 200718 yr programme for removing/cleaning away old drivers?I had posted a topic entitled "New Ati drivers" but it seems to have disappeared.!!!!!!Anyway I installed the version 7.11 and it did not work very well for me, so I reverted back to version 7.10, but that appears to be not doing as well as previously.Could it be that I need to clean up the old drivers.I have read somewhere that this can be done but I need something, well fairly easy and straight forward.RegardsRichard
November 22, 200718 yr Viola! Ask and you shall receive!! Driver Cleaner can be found here:http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745Let us know if it helps. Just an FYI, The way I update my drivers is as follows:1. Uninstall ATI/Nvidia driver from Add/Remvove Programs in Control Panel.2. Reboot into SAFE MODE (Hold down F8 just before Windows Boots)3. Run Driver Cleaner in Windows Safe Mode.4. Reboot into regular Windows, and install the new drivers. If the install Wizard pops up cancel it.It usually provides a stress free update, and minimal if any conflicts.[hr width=100%" size=1 color="black]http://forefrontgrp.com/MyLogo2.JPGJason | General Aviation FanVisit my new Blog:http://abwain.spaces.live.com/ J R (Jason R MYNN) General Aviation Nut FSEconomy Pilot
November 23, 200718 yr Hello Jason, have done as you suggested and all went well.Any difference? well to be honest I'm not sure, however allow me to ask another question. When you run the cleaner there is a drop down menu, of I guess different cards. I selected "ati" and then ran the cleaner. Was this correct or should I be doinf something else as well.My card is an Ati RX800 TD256E [PCI Express]RegardsRichard
