Menus unusable after starting a flight

Featured Replies

This odd issue began occurring yesterday - after starting a flight I realized that I needed to load a different joystick profile.

After hitting ESC, the sim started lagging badly.  Once the option menus were finally displayed, they were pretty much unusable because the lag was so bad.

I renamed my community folder and disabled all external addons but that did not help.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like a memory issue possibly.  I've yet to have that happen to me personally.  Maybe check what your CPU and Memory are doing before and after hitting esc ?   I also found the link below from PMDG forum - are you using that plane ?  Maybe also see if the issue occurs with other aircraft ?  Also,  is this happening with active pause also ?

Thanks for your suggestions, but I found the issue.

Apparently while I was modifying one of my profiles yesterday, I accidentally assigned 'save custom camera 9' to the ESC key.  I deleted that binding and all is well.

Great news - glad you got it figured out.
