January 8, 200719 yr Hi,Just read the report linked "Flight in Severe Turbulence". Last line of the conclusion was "By adhering to the above recommendations, a turbulence encounter should remain a normal play but by no means become a thriller"! (Among the recommendations were to put the A/P in ALT Hold or SPD Hold modes from PROFILE while in turbulence and to disconnect Autothrottle, also not to touch the stick when it feels like the plane's dropping from the sky (probably easier said than done!).Will maybe read a little from the A380 after this. Wonder how different it will be from the A340 etc.? Like to regard the A380 like the new "King" of the skies (the fat/rich King). Was looking forward to FedEx flying them though! Many thanks,P.
