Here's my hint: With one of those excellent payware programs you have, change the terrain to the color you desire as they override the FSX defaults. There is no UTX Europe yet but one of those other graphics programs should work. FSGlobal should give you the proper landclass details for Ireland but I'm not positive as I have never used the program. UTX Europe, when released, should provide you better landclass information. If you have tried to change the textures using those programs, perhaps you have corrupted the scenery textures beyond repair. I know they backup the default textures but those may have been overwritten when you installed and ran additional graphics programs. Maybe a complete uninstall/reinstall is in order? There ae some replacement freeware textures in the library here for Europe which I understand help with the drab defaults however as of yet I have not used them.

@ firehawk44thanks: I am using those add-ons since a few days, so I don't know them deeply yet, but as far as I've understood FSGlobal is about altitutes, not textures; concerning the others, I did not touch anything yet, so corruption could only have happened by "electronic chance" ;-)@Nick_N:-) so let the wait begin

Europe will have the same enhancements, so it will be worth the waitFTX will also add another level to the entire mix as they release their packages for Europe. You will be able to get the enhanced GEX USACAN next week

in the meantime, while we wait: the customized european textures that I've found in the avsim library are improving a lot: i.e., Italy looks like Italy now, and not Mali or Kirghizstan :-)
