November 24, 20241 yr Hello Gang! I was one of the users initially affected by the installation gremlins. Eventually I got past all that and was able to get the sim installed and running. I have a 2.5gb internet connection both on download and upload so streaming is a non issue for me. The biggest challenge I immediately faced was the controls setup process. I just cannot understand why something that should be so straight-forward has to be so incredibly cumbersome and difficult. I still don't have my controls properly set but was at least able to get to the point of being able to takeoff and land. A couple of positive observations I immediately realized: 1. The ground dynamics and handling are a million times better in 2024 than in 2020. Aircraft are finally controllable in a realistic fashion both, on taxiways and on the runway. 2. I have to say that the same goes for flying dynamics. It feels right 3. The scenery looks fantastic and a big upgrade from 2020. Of course, this could be the result of the very fast internet and bandwidth I mentioned above. 4. I've noticed that airports have improved.....Sonoma County (KSTS) is a good example. 5. The weather looks superb. There are some negatives I have noticed though: 1. Strange UFO like artifacts magically appearing in the air out of nowhere. 2. AI parked traffic floating in the air with no landing gear visible 3. Wrong AI aircraft liveries appearing at airports all over the world even though properly identified by ATC based on real world flights. Same applies to AI aircraft type. As an example, only regional jets fly to KSTS but I spotted a generic A321 parked there. 4. Seems like even though the AI engine is better than 2020, a lot of work remains to be done in this area. Lost of AI aircraft bunched up on top of each other, many buzzing the tower at high-speed, some spinning at the gates, and the vast majority have no liveries even though properly identified by ATC with the proper name and flight number. PLUS....where are the AI contrails? All in all, I'm getting there with this thing but it's clear there is work to be done on the ASobo side. The holidays are upon us so they had to release this thing - I hope they get it buttoned up soon. Cheers. Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5.
