December 14, 20241 yr In P2A V2 I can open the virtual desktop and click on P2A buttons with the handheld VR controller, however this doesn't work in V3. In V3 the button I click changes color but doesn’t respond, I have to instead use a mouse to interact with P2A buttons. To confirm it wasn’t something in my setup, I checked back and V2 still works fine with the VR controller. Can something be done to allow interacting with V3 using the VR controller? December 15, 20241 yr Can you please provide more information on your VR setup? For example, are you using SteamVR? Are you using the SteamVR Desktop overlay or some other overlay software? Any other details that might be relevant?
December 15, 20241 yr Author Thank you @EagleSight No, I don’t use SteamVR. For XP12 I use OpenXR and the WMR desktop overlay. I don’t have any other overlay installed in my PC. if I point the beam to any P2A V3 button and pull the trigger, I see the button change color as it is recognizing the interaction but doesn’t execute the button’s function. If I use the mouse then it works fine. This problem only exists with V3, however in V2 I can interact just fine with the beam/trigger of the VR controller. Any other program in the desktop overlay works fine as well. December 16, 20241 yr Thanks for the additional details. I am using SteamVR with its built-in standard overlay containing P2A that I can "float" inside the plane. As my setup is different than yours I probably can't help... other than mention what I have noticed with my setup. I was having a similar issue the last several days where I would put P2A in the overlay and then when I attempted (using controller) to set the SND devices in P2A Settings, I could not see the drop down list in the overlay, but it did appear on the 2D desktop. I could set the values I wanted with the mouse in 2D. Sounds similar to your issue. And so I reinstalled just now version 0.0.27N of the EarlyAccess P2A updates... and now it works. So, I have no explanation, other than the reinstall. I can set the values using controller in both a desktop overlay and if I float the P2A overlay. I am not very familiar with the story on the HP Reverb G2 with WMR (I assume this is Windows Mixed Reality), but as I understand it updating Windows 11 to the latest version might make WMR obsolete. Perhaps you or others who use HP Reverb may know more about that. Best, EagleSight
December 16, 20241 yr Author Thank you @EagleSight. I reinstalled it tonight but still have same issue, only with P2A V3. Good idea thou. There is something different about V3. Yes, I meant Windows Mixed Reality (WMR).
