User Aircraft Icon Color on the map

Featured Replies

Hello Alex,

I was trying to find settings to change color of the User Aircraft Icon on the map but without success.

Maybe I was not reading carefully the Options?

The reason is that I use Sectional Charts as a Theme and there is a lot of yellow there so my yellow aircraft is a bit harder to see.

Thank you.

Andrzej

Hi Andrzej,

it's a bit more complicated since I use vector graphics images to draw the aircraft.

You can copy a SVG vector graphics file from LNM stock icons, modify it and put it into the settings folder C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel to overload the stock one.

See here for details: https://www.littlenavmap.org/manuals/littlenavmap/release/latest/en/CUSTOMIZE.html#icons

Depending on aircraft type you might want to download and modify these files from https://github.com/albar965/littlenavmap/tree/release/3.0/resources/icons :

aircraft_jet_ground_user.svg
aircraft_jet_user.svg
aircraft_small_ground_user.svg
aircraft_small_user.svg

Thank you very much, Alex!

Will give it a try and report here.

I downloaded aircraft_small_user.svg, changed color and saved it.

I went to directory you pointed me to but there is no file to overwrite .

I believe that I need to overwrite it somewhere else. I used Windows 64 Installer for installing LNM and it installed LNM in in Program Files.

Could you point me in the right direction, please?

Thank you!

Andrzej

Nope. This is correct. There is nothing to overwrite. LNM will check the settings folder for the SVG files and load them from there instead of using the internal stock SVG. The stock files a baked into the littlenavmap.exe.

Do not put the file into "C:\Program Files\Little Navmap".
Put it to "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ABarthel" . This is the settings folder.

OK, I did but I am doing something wrong. I still see the yellow icon.

I will spend some more time on it and will let you know. No rush. 🙂

Maybe I am editing wrong icon? 🙂

I am sorry to post like crazy but I did it!

I supposed to edit aircraft_small_ground_user too and now I see green icon (my color) on the ground.

AND I see it also in the air.

Thank you tons, Alex!

Yes, you have to change all the icons I mentioned because LNM uses one or the other depending if aircraft is a jet, on ground or whatever.

Alex

Yes, I figured that out after I changed the ground one.

Thanks again!
