April 26, 200818 yr Hi,I will be building my new AMD Phenom X4 system with DX10 compatible gfx card next week hopefully.I tried to search but couldnt find a descriptive answer. What does this DX10 "Preview" mean with SP2?can you toggle it on and off and is it really just a numbed down "test" of DX10 implementation in SP2?thanks
April 26, 200818 yr If you have Vista you can turn DX10 preview on or off as you wish.XP is DX9 only.It is dumbed down somewhat; not utilising DX10s full potential but things like VC cockpit shadows are possible.Best Regards, Donald T.:-wave
April 26, 200818 yr this post:http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007...on-and-sp2.aspxlists what is in SP2 for DX9 and DX10. ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.
April 26, 200818 yr It means if you enable DX10, don't expect it to be a polished feature. For instance, ATI and Nvidia users are plagued by this, No signs of anyone wanting to fix it.
May 2, 200818 yr Thanks for the replies gents.sorry its taken so long to reply, been really busy.very usefull info, I will check out and experiment myself when I've got FSX fully installed with all add-ons etc.cheers
