Which hits FPS more - 2D or VC panel?

I'm no FSX expert so it may seem like a silly question to some. Just wondered.

Well you could always examine that question for yourself by using your Shift+Z keys. To be honest I have never examined it myself , but if I were to use an educated guess I would say the 2d panel would give more frames.Happy Landings,Chris

Yeah there is NO one answer. Each plane is different.Earler planes had very detailed 2d panels and plain, simple virtual cockpits. Now, alot have very detailed v cockpits and do not even have a 2d.In general, those with CRT displays and especially heads up displays such as fighters eat up FPS.

It depends on the plane, but on those aircraft where I get good frame rates in the VC and lower rates in the 2d cockpit, I can sometimes improve the 2d cockpit performance by "saving the flight".Actually, alt/F/S/esc seems to do the trick.Something is reset (it is an FSX thing..) and the frame rate in the 2d cockpit is now much better.:-)
