Need advise on gpu

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm in the process of building a new system for msfs 2024, so far I have:

9800x3d

msi x870 tomahawk

64gb gskill trident 6000mhz

Given the outrages gpu prices, at least where I live, I'm left to choose between a 4070 super or a 7800 xt.

I have no intentions of trying to run ultra settings, just hoping for a smooth experience with perhaps some ai.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Tony

How do I get a minimum of 40 FPS with an Nvidia 3060 in MSFS 2020 and 2024 (and more importantly No Stutters and a very smooth experience like this> https://youtube.com/.../Ugkxghp5mnmsPJhEetxPhSAVIzBKCrnEA... )?

I have had a few enquiries about how I can achieve the FPS I do on a midrange system when others with considerably more "horsepower" barely get 20fps. What follows is an in-depth guide on how to achieve the same or similar results*
*WARNING! One of the steps mentioned might mean you have to upgrade the BIOS on your motherboard, this operation could end in disaster and make your MB U/S if done improperly. If necessary, I "highly" advise you to seek professional help.
Below are my specs and the version of Windows 11 you need to have:
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
Nvidia RTX3060 12 GB VRAM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 24H2

OS build 26100.2894
Below are the steps and additions you will need to achieve a consistent 40 FPS
  • Operating system and why 24H2 is important, you will need to upgrade to this before continuing with any other steps
  • You will need to reinstall MSFS onto your main (C:) drive unless it is already there
  • Download and install Nvidia Profile Inspector to enable the rBAR feature. This may require a BIOS update* see warning
  • (The following steps are NOT required if you already own a series 4 or 5 RTX card) Download and install DLSS Swapper and the latest Frame Gen Mod

Each step will have an accompanying video by Island Sim Pilot which explains in detail how to complete the steps above.
