May 27, 20251 yr Flight Sim First Officer (FSFO) is introducing an AI Co-Pilot kingm56 — Yesterday at 01:41 @everyone @everyone Friends SFOV6 is advancing at an incredible pace! This week, I successfully implemented RAAS along with a powerful new sound recorder, allowing all users to create their own sound sets. While its primary use is for me to record the famous English 1 sound set (i.e., Matt), the functionality is available to everyone. Both features are performing significantly better than those in V5. For example, RAAS now detects long/deep landings and recognizes when you’re crossing a runway. There’s even an option for the copilot to turn on all lights when doing so—perfect for your SW pilots. Additionally, I’ve added a compact mode to ensure our tablet-style app remains streamlined, taking up even less screen space than V5! Exciting times ahead—stay tuned for more updates! Tomorrow, I’ll be recording my voice set—getting much closer to completion! Stay tuned for more updates. Another great day of programming for V6! Today, I've rolled out an improved speech recognition feature that works far better than previous versions. I'm also excited to introduce a new choice for the speech recognition engine—letting you decide the one that best fits your needs. Microsoft Speech - This is our legacy engine, which I've used in the past. I've significantly improved its implementation, and now you can select an accuracy rate from 0.3% to 100%. Vosk - Is a free, open-source speech recognition engine that not only allows you to choose your input device, but also opens the door to multilingual support. Soon, you'll be able to select models for languages like French, Spanish, and more. Rolling out additional languages will take some time, but it's definitely on the roadmap. Azure Cognitive Services - This option brings true AI power to your fingertips. Imagine asking your copilot, "What's my VREF speed?" and receiving a dynamic, context-aware response. However, this service comes at a significant cost—about $120,000 per year to implement, or alternatively on a pay-by-request basis. Since each AI query processed by Microsoft’s servers incurs a fee, I won't enable this option until I can devise a pricing scheme that keeps FSFO affordable while covering the cost. I’m exploring options, including a potential subscription model, but my goal is to remain cost-effective. I'm having fun with this model!! Thank you for your continued support. I’m excited for you to try out these new features and share your thoughts! Would you like to see additional details on these options or more insights into the upcoming enhancements?
