Two Tricks I Found For FSX

Recommended Posts

Two neat tricks I just found while starting up FSX for the first time.1. Make a shortcut to: your_install_directoryUireslc01.htmThis shortcut will bring up the "Learning Center" in your Windows browser as a separate window that will run along with the simulator as it runs.Great for learning things like the GPS unit, while in windowed mode.2. There is an undocumented key command to change the viewing distance as opposed to the zoom. While this might not sound to exciting, it makes a serious difference as you will find out by trying it. It deals with distance limitation (the zoom doesn't stop)and distortion issues.Zoom In -> = (EQUAL SIGN)Zoom Out -> - (HYPHEN)Change Viewing Distance In -> CTRL + "-" (HYPHEN) Change Viewing Distance Out -> CTRL + "=" (EQUAL SIGN)FYI - Camera.cfg resides in the same folder as fsx.cfg over in Documents and Settings.Bob (Las Cruces, NM)XP-Home, With FS Genesis Terrain MeshAsus P5N-D MotherboardIntel E8500 @ 3.16GHz (Now)CPUThermaltake MaxOrb Enthusiast CPU FanCorsir XMS2 PC6400/DDR2/800 Dual, 4GigsSATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDDEVGA Geforce 8800 GT/512 (OC'd Version)
