MSFS 2020 does not recognize key assignment

I cannot get MSFS 2020 to recognize key assignments assigned in MSFS 2020 Brovo setup page.  I can assign them but MS doesn't react to them.

ex     I assign throttle 1 and throttle 2 axis and assign the key above to show direction of throttle lever, and MSFS doesn't show them working.

Any ideas,
