Strange deep stuttering when changing cloud injection

Got a really weird problem with MSFS 2020.  
If I change the cloud formations manually, or if active sky changes the clouds in the sim, I get this really heavy stuttering.  Almost impossible to use the sim.  Alt+enter twice fixes the problem.  But I don’t really want to do that as it’s immersion breaking. 
 

Im running frame gen x2 with lossless.  Native 30FPS.  
 

Any idea what is happening?
