uninstalling SP1 and SP2

Featured Replies

Hey, Guys.I'm having problems with my Active Sky X install and was advised by support to unintall these, try reinstalling SP1 and see how that goes.I don't have problem with that, but does this basically mean I need to start from scratch with a clean install of FSX, then? I've been away for a while, but I believe the SPs needed a clean install of FSX in order to install correctly...that means a lot of work getting FSX set up (addons ect) over the last couple of weeks wiped out. Thanks!

It is my understanding that your uninstall list will show SP2 as the only FSX uninstall option. When it is uninstalled, SP1 will be the only option, getting back to only the FSX initial installation. It shouldn't affect your addons. Create a Windows restore point before the SP2 uninstall as insurance. Thanks for the reply, Art.I ran into further problems, however, and ended up needing to wipe my system clean of anything FSX related. Not to mention that I accidently mistook the uninstaller for FS9 to be that of FSX...so, I had to take everything FS9 related off as well. This is what happens when you stare at a computer monitor for too long.I'm not having a good day..lol :)Shane.

Yikes, Shane, looks like you are today's recipient of the Official AVSIM Round Tuitt award. When I get around to it, I will be sure to send you a Round Tuitt as well. At least at the end of it all, your system should be in good order. I hope all goes well for you! Jeff ShylukAssistant Managing EditorSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
