Could someone help me with my sig pic?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone :)Please could you all give me some advice on improving the quality of my sig pic?The rules as we all know are:1.) Only one (1) image is allowed2.) That image shall not be larger than 400 x 60 pixels in size3.) The image file shall not be larger than 10 Kbytes in size4.) The image can be animated, but shall not exceed the 10 Kbytes sizeTo satisfy this rule I did a *lot* of cropping and then using IrfanView I saved it to a small .jpg. But the result is that horrible compression artifacts are showing as you can see.Im asking because I see that other peoples sigs on here satisfy all the rules - but do not show any compression issues. How do you do it!? :) Could you point me to some programs that will help? Or am I using IrfanView the wrong way? I have the original .bmp copy of the sig pic. Thanks!!!!!!!

Hi Nevin,Did you do your letters using Anti-Aliasing ? If so, Perhaps turning it off might help..Might find a .GIF file to do better than .JPG also. Might.. I know it's not easy to make the 400x60 size work for everything, I have new one I'd like to make work but that 60 figure really hurts creative ideas :-)

I just use PhotoShop, that way you have alot more control over compression. You can get something like this without have to suffer from overcompressionhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/172696.jpg
