June 18, 200223 yr G'Day!I've tried my hand at repainting and did a mediocre job of it.Now, I'd like to do more. I've seen many variations of aircraft in FS equipped with floats. How hard would it be to design/draw/add floats to an existing aircraft? The DC-3 is what I have in mind. I've never seen it done in FS though I know it has been done in reality as i once saw a photograph of a military C-47 equipped with them (dual floats).Any takers?Heather
June 18, 200223 yr I've seen at least one FS version; I believe it was for FS98. I don't know if it was freeware or commercial, though.-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 18, 200223 yr One can find a DC-3 with Floats afx file that could serve as a nice base at Freeflight Design Shop's Propliners Sectionhttp://www.freeflightdesign.com
June 18, 200223 yr Thanks guys for the leads.I don't know diddly-squat about designing or building FS aircraft but that Freeflight Design site looks pretty promising. I might even learn something!! Toodle!Heather
June 19, 200223 yr Author Copied from your other MSFS forum thread ... I've converted this old lass for FS2002 for you ... she's the very plane Lizardo mentions. Cuda is a fictional livery ... so I guess she'll end up in Heather's Charter Service before long! Hardly compares with Jan Visser's work, but hey, it floats (now) and it's all about panels and sounds anyway, isn't it?http://www.swiremariners.com/cuda.jpgMark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
