June 21, 200223 yr Can anyone tell me how to go about opening and editing a .mdl file in FS2K2 so that it will refer to a different texture file please. Can it be done in a similar way to editing a .cfg file? Thanks in advance,Phil
June 22, 200223 yr You could try a Hex Editor but it is going to be a big headache! Why not just repaint the existing texture files? And no, you can't just use Notepad, Wordpad, or Texteditor on the *.mdl files. Bill Sieffert
June 22, 200223 yr If want an aircraft with different skins you make your changes in the aircraft.cfg file. Example:[fltsim.1]......texture=1[fltsim.2]......texture=2[fltsim.3].......texture=3.............[fltsim.n]texture=n"n" can be an interger or a unique name. Example twaYou will have texture folders with names like texture.1 texture.2 texture.3 ..... texture.n with the different skins in them.or texture.twa ... texture.ozark ... texture.whatuwantIf you would edit the mdl file you would be changing the shape of the aircraft. Changing the texture via the mdl could be done be it would be a waste of effort.Regards,Bob.******** Press escape to stop the gif action *******http://www.mtco.com/~rsam/Bobbie2.gif
