August 10, 200223 yr For what it's worth, an update on my test homebuilt. Now I have to start working on the hard stuff, such as all the moving items and painting it. I have found GMAX a real joy to work with. I picked up the 3ds Max Bible which is an excellent resource tool. Well worth the money!BC
August 10, 200223 yr I have the 3DSMax bible also. It is indeed worth it.Glad you are enjoying designing, it is a great hobby.Greetz,Udo.:-wave
August 10, 200223 yr I don't design aircraft but... Aren't they animated by naming parts with some special 'tag'? Is there a list of these tags? Thanks for any info...http://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg
August 15, 200223 yr To answer your questions, "tags" are used to animate such things as ailerons, because flight simulator does that automatically. Landing gear need to be animated in GMAX but "tagged" so FS recognizes what they are. A list of these can be found in the MakeMDL SDK (Software Developer's Kit) on the fs2002 insider website. I forget the url though. I'ts linked from the MSFS oficial page though.
