February 6Feb 6 I have uses Dazzys AI traffic for a while but as of late I decided to try fix some glaring issues, this was a good intro to plane maker, though i have done basic stuff before. Laminar have changed a bit with AI somethings noted some not so ill do my best to explain. This is not for AI traffic addons but that which use laminar ATC etc. 1. It seems that AI no longer call pushback at gates or where needed. Pushback for AI has being problematic for years but I accidentally discovered the cause. 2. This was noted by Laminar quiet a while ago that AI routing on ground will try not to get planes to head but, while not using runways as taxiways, but that is not what happens, far to often runways get used to no explainable reason, which makes it hard to have to many AI planes, id rather put up with the headbutting. 3. A bug, Sometimes AI panes after start up do not get a route and so simply head East on the ground and do lawn mowing tree pruning and building demolishing as they go. 4. AI planes used to start but now if you dont have APU enabled in plane maker they wont, even having the GPU wont help. 5. AI planes when spawning in air, far to often do at 3000 ft to close to the airport or dont have a way point in flight path to get to descend them to a lower altitude so they often do 8deg nose dives , 6. AI seem to ignore parking types and even taxiway sizes now to get them from a to b. Quiet often you have Freight parking at passenger even when there is plenty of freight parking A brief glimpse into AI procedures on ground 1. All AI planes that spawn on ground do do cold and dark. 2. They than go through standard boarding procedure, fuel, Catering etc 3. Than they go to taxi mode once approved this is where it all goes haywire and I just managed to catch the problemm. A. ATC first draws a route from planes parking spot in the direction of generated flight path, B. Than the path becomes more refined and is drawn from Planes parking direct to the expected runway, I have seeing this change while its thinking. C, Than the correct taxi route is drawn and this is where the problems show and why pushback never worked for AI. D. The plane often start taxing before the correct route is drawn, they always head east and even ignore the direct route. They wait while taxiing for the correct route. E. If correct route is drawn the plane will attempt to turn to get back on track while ATC nags them they are off track, this sometimes means they end up stuck in a building and as mentioned previously sometimes teh proper route never comes and they just keep going east on the ground. F, This bring me to pushback which you may have figured out the issue now, plane calls pushback, pushback connects than plane proceed to taxi causing pushback to hissy fit and disconnect. So AI needs some rules. A. Plane does not proceed to taxi until ATC has published the proper route. This will solve lots of issues. B. If pushback re introduced than , Pushback should not proceed until route created so it knows which direction to push back. and Ai plane should not change to taxi mode until at least one min after tug disconnects to allow it to get out of way. c. Taxi holds need to be introduced or give us back headbutting far rather that than the alternative using runways and messing up everything. D. Planes should not land at or spawn at airports where it has no gate of correct size or taxiways it can use, they can spwan in air and just pass through. Have filled 2 bug reports so far not comments.
